get somebody else to do it.
I love that when I open my social platform these days, the algorithms have fine tuned themselves to my desired space of well-being, which exists deeply embedded within spaces filled with natural light, covered in plants, and most of all, center Black women who are finding different ways to individually and collectively opt out of the things that make us feel heavy.
We’ve done enough world saving, nurturing and coddling of those who exist around us for a couple of forevers, and we’re finally learning that if anyone is going to listen to us, believe us, protect us and see us, it’s always going to be us.
While I’ve contributed my fair share of “Black women at ease” content to the interwebs, I Stan for nothing more than watching others explore different ways of living out their versions of joy, ease, and freedom. I’ve developed several parasocial relationships with women on social platforms, and a few actual, real life ones as well.
And because I believe deeply that everyone finding and honoring their unique and specific frequency is the only thing that will pull us out of the dismal place in which we’re currently existing, I still believe that through us finally taking care of ourselves first, we are STILL saving the world. Y’all welcome.
This Sunday we had the last offering in our series, Rise & Release : A Series for More than Movement at The Rest Spot, and we could not have planned it to play out better if we tried. We are grateful for every single beautiful soul that joined us, and we cannot wait to offer more of this intentional space. Stay tuned for more to come soon.
Take Care Loved Ones,
Rebecca
