Meet Your Practitioner.
Rebecca Williams
While Rebecca’s personal wellness journey began in 2016, the calling to provide wellness practices for the professional journeys of others emerged in 2020, as the need for processing the overlap of globally experienced traumas became apparent. The comprehensive weight of the collective experiences of the COVID-19 Pandemic, a heightened national awareness around the need for deeper conversations regarding REDI: Race, Ethnicity, Diversity, Inclusion as well as JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and the adjustments made necessary by individuals returning to shared professional spaces in the aftermath of a year or more of quarantining, sparked the development of practices that could be used in support of her own wellness along with team members seeking balance in the midst of these challenging transitions.
After solidifying her commitment to the work through the completion of a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga in 2021, Rebecca immediately began implementing skills learned through her training, with the useful context of personal and professional experiences, in the facilitation of a series of office breathwork and movement sessions to foster greater connection amongst team members prior to retreats and as a tool to ease into and out of the often challenging conversations around the internal and external work being taken on. Following these initial experiences, Rebecca went on to form Curating Peace Yoga & Wellness L.L.C. to further develop her offerings and expand her reach to those outside of her team and family.
Under the umbrella of Curating Peace, Rebecca created and facilitated a number of well received presentations to offer skills and resources to professional groups seeking the greater wellness balance in their shared spaces. This has included opportunities such as University of Missouri Kansas City’s (UMKC) Women of Color in Educational Leadership Conference, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Delta Gems Program, in which participants practiced the real-time implementation of yogic practices and healing modalities to supplement the principles shared for increased manageability of work and personal life.
