believe with your whole body.

As a strong believer in our innate abilities to create and manifest the life and experiences we desire, I have to confess that I still at times fall victim to the practice of saying out loud what I don’t yet fully believe within.

Depending on the day, the mood, the series of unfortunate events that have played out in my life at any given moment, I often need to remind myself that belief starts within, and then truly happens in fullness when you sync your physical being with what you’re thinking or writing or saying. Because the truth is we can be saying , “I believe” while every other part of our energy simultaneously whispers or screams, “Nahhhhhh.”

So let’s hack our collective belief systems by starting in the body and then pushing out. This means that you first need to get out of your head and into your body through some embodiment practices. And how, pray tell, does one do this? I’m so glad you asked (smiles + winks).

  1. Ground yourself. Sit, stand, or lay with your body rooted and connected to the earth through the feet, or back body or your set. Find a tall, straight spine and drop the shoulders away from the ears).

  2. Regulate the breath. Start noticing what is happening with the breath. Is it choppy and erratic? Is it slow and measured? Is it somewhere in between? Take note, and then begin pacing the counts of the inhales to the counts of the exhales, while breathing into the nose and exhaling out of the mouth. Repeat that. Inhale. Fill the belly with air. Exhale. Bring the belly button toward the spine.

  3. Release. Exhale a long, deep breath out of an opened mouth with an audible sigh or rumble. Visualize every doubting energy inside of and around you being released and mentally detach this from your orbit.

  4. Open Up. Place hands on the body in any place that feels good. I recommend one hand over the heart and another over the belly button, but follow your body’s lead. Inhale deeply.

  5. Speak from your whole body. State or repeat your intended belief, visually and pulling energy from the core of your body and reverberating out.

  6. Affirm Your Belief. Ase. And so it is.

I hope you’ll remind myself when it matters the most, that you have the power and responsibility to create the life that you desire to live.

Take Care Loved Ones,

Rebecca
